Fall of the Alamo (Painting)
Artwork available to Buy as a Digital Print
Fall of the Alamo, considered one of the most famous artistic depictions of the Battle of the Alamo, was completed by painter Robert Jenkins Onderdonk in 1903. Davy Crockett is seen at the forefront (inaccurately wearing his "trademark" buckskin clothes), wielding his trusty flintlock above his head under a cloud of gun smoke, while around him Tejanos, Texan settlers, American soldiers, and frontiersman defend the Alamo against an onslaught of Mexican soldiers.
